Traditionally a gathering of loved ones to sing and celebrate the upcoming marriage, it has evolved into a lively evening where both families come together to kick off the wedding festivities with energy, laughter, and tradition.

Jaggo is a lively Punjabi pre-wedding celebration filled with music, dancing, and tradition. Family and friends carry illuminated pots while dancing to the beat of the dhol, symbolizing joy, blessings, and the community coming together to celebrate the upcoming wedding.

The Choora Ceremony is a cherished Punjabi wedding tradition where the bride is gifted red and ivory bangles by her maternal family, symbolizing blessings, prosperity, and the start of married life. The bangles are placed during an emotional pre-wedding ritual filled with prayers and family blessings. Decorative kalire are then tied to the choora, representing joy, good fortune, and new beginnings.

 The Maiyaan ceremony is a joyful Punjabi pre-wedding tradition where family and loved ones gather to bless the bride or groom before the wedding. A turmeric paste is applied as a symbol of purification, protection, and new beginnings, while music, laughter, and traditional songs fill the celebration. It marks the emotional transition into married life, surrounded by the warmth of family and culture.

 Anand Karaj, is the sacred Sikh wedding ceremony performed in the presence of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji (holy scripture). The couple circles the Guru during the Laavan, four spiritual hymns that symbolize the journey of marriage. 

The Doli is the bride’s emotional farewell from her family, symbolizing her transition into a new chapter of life with her husband. Traditionally rooted, it remains an intimate moment reserved for close family and friends, filled with blessings, gratitude, and heartfelt goodbyes.

Ghar Aagman & Post-Wedding Games mark the bride’s welcome into the groom’s home, symbolizing her acceptance into a new family and the start of married life together. This moment is followed by lighthearted games and traditions shared with close family, helping build comfort, connection, and joy after the emotional Doli.
